We have a strongethos of teaching and training, and you will be welcomed into our large PrimaryCare team. Our clinical workforceconsists of 2 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 2 sessional GP, 1 GP Registrar, 1Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Nurse Prescriber, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 HealthCare Assistant, 4 clinical pharmacist, 1 Paramedic, 1 physiotherapist and 1Social Prescriber. This clinical team is supported by a managerial, admin andreception team.

You will become part of our busy clinical team and strive to ensure ourpatients receive the best possible service from the Practice. Every clinicaland administrative member of staff is encouraged to develop professionally. TheGPs have been supported and encouraged to specialise; each has their owninterest Minor Surgery, Dermatology, Diabetes, Pediatrics and Womenshealth.

Main duties of the job

As a GP at Essex Lodge Surgery, your primaryduties involve delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. This includesdiagnosing and treating various medical conditions, managing chronic illnesses,and promoting preventive healthcare measures. You'll collaborate on QualityImprovement (QI) projects aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness ofour services. Additionally, you'll contribute to our status as ateaching practice by mentoring medical students and trainee GPs. Improving accessto healthcare services is another key aspect of your role, achieved throughinnovative appointment scheduling and exploring alternative consultationmethods like online consultations. GPs at Essex Lodge Surgery also participate in multidisciplinaryteam meetings, maintain accurate medical records, and stay updated on currentmedical guidelines and research. Please also note that Essex Lodge Surgery (London, E13 0AS) has is located within 10 minutes ( miles) walking distance from Plaistow Underground Station. We also have limited car parking facilities at our Surgery for patients, visitors and staff members.

**Role Overview:**

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate GeneralPractitioner (GP) to join our team at Essex Lodge Surgery. The successfulcandidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive primary medical careto patients of all ages, promoting preventive healthcare measures, andcontributing to our ongoing efforts to enhance patient access, quality of care,and service delivery.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Clinical Care:** Provide high-quality,evidence-based medical care to patients, including diagnosing and treatingacute and chronic conditions, managing long-term illnesses, and promotingpreventive health measures.

2. **Quality Improvement (QI) Projects:**Collaborate with colleagues on QI projects aimed at improving clinicaloutcomes, patient safety, and service delivery. Take a lead role in initiativesrelated to Smear Tests and Childhood Immunisations, ensuring adherence to bestpractices and guidelines.

3. **Teaching and Mentorship:** As a teaching practice, provide mentorship and supervision to medicalstudents and trainee GPs. Share your knowledge and expertise througheducational sessions and clinical supervision.

4. **Improving Access:** Work with our team toidentify and implement strategies for improving patient access to healthcareservices. This may include optimising appointment scheduling, offering extendedhours, and exploring alternative consultation methods such as e-consults.

5. **Multidisciplinary Collaboration:** Participatein multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits toreview patient care, coordinate services, and identify areas for improvement.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic andcoordinated care for patients.

6. **Record Keeping and Documentation:** Maintainaccurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient encounters,treatment plans, and clinical outcomes in accordance with regulatoryrequirements and best practices.

**Qualifications and Requirements:**

- Medical degree from a recognised institution.

- Completion of residency training in GeneralPractice/Family Medicine.

- Registration with the General Medical Council(GMC) and a license to practice in the UK.

- Membership of the Royal College of GeneralPractitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent qualification preferred.
