HLTA September - Salford

We are seeking a Level 3 HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) with SEN experience to join our dedicated team at Teaching Personnel.

The successful candidate will work within our small SEN provision, supporting students' day-to-day activities and delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences through 1:1 and small group tutoring. The school is based in Salford (M30) and is dedicated to providing equal life chances for all our students. We believe in empowering our students to take control of their lives by offering individualised learning programs tailored to their unique needs and aspirations. Our approach is guided by the Preparing for Adulthood Framework, focusing on education, employment, independent living, good health, friendships, and community inclusion.

The school offers a holistic approach to education, incorporating community engagement, the development of work and living skills, and leisure opportunities, all supported by a comprehensive accreditation offer.

- Provide 1-1 and small group support and guidance to students in their educational and personal development, fostering independence, confidence, and self-advocacy skills.

- Provide cover for class Teacher as and when neccessary.

- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualised learning plans for students, ensuring progress is monitored and interventions are put in place as necessary.

- Support students in their transition to adulthood, facilitating opportunities for community engagement, work experience, and leisure activities.

- Assist with personal care and ADLs as required.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 HLTA qualification or equivilent experience.
  • Experience working in a SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting desirable
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the holistic development of students with diverse needs.
  • Be eligable for an enhanced DBS disclosure check

Pay dependent on experience. 

This is a full time role, Monday-Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
