Deputy Nursery Manager

Salary : From £26,000

Hours Per Week: 40 hours (flexible)

Shift Times: 07:30 - 18:00

To be considered for the role of Deputy Nursery Manager you will have:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 Childcare related qualification
  • GCSE or equivalent English and Mathematics Grade C or above (if Childcare Qualification achieved after September 2014)
  • Previous Early Year Management or Leadership experience
  • Excellent knowledge of EYFS and OFSTED frameworks


About the Nursery:

Our client is looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic and has a passion for delivering early years' care and education; They want someone who will be a great day to day role model for their dedicated staff team and you must be open to learning a new model of care informed by their child psychology approach. You will need to be great with parents and children alike. You will need to be calm under pressure, a good communicator and professional in your approach.

The role of a Deputy Nursery Manager within the Nursery involves:
  • Deputising for the Manager in their absence
  • Assisting with the day to day running of the Nursery
  • Assisting with training and carrying out staff appraisals
  • Keeping accurate records for both children and members of staff
  • Leading daily and weekly meeting, alongside the management team
  • Ensuring the Nursery is compliant with internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Developing good relationships with the Nursery team and external agencies
  • Ensuring the highest level of care is being delivered.
  • Being responsible for several key children as when needed
  • Ensuring there are good staffing levels and when needed assist with the recruitment process.
