Support Hours:

7am3pm Eastern Time Oncall/Weekend Support (As required)

Nature of Work:

Individual Contributor who can work on transformationaltasks and advisor to operations team on critical issues &continuous improvement of Storage Environment

Technical Skills:

• Review approve and coordinate Storage relatedchanges.
• Ensure that procedures are properlydocumented and followed.
• Provide expertiseanalysis and recommendations.
• Driveinitiatives and assist with new implementations.
• Report on ongoing issues and ensure that they areprioritized correctly.
• Escalate problems whenneeded.
• Ensure the team members are trainedand conduct training session as needed.
• Ensurethat emergency procedures such as catalog forward recoveryalternate master catalog and HSM CDS recovery are tested at regularbasis and known by all team members.
• Investigate and compare new technologies such as cloudstorage and make recommendations. Act as an advisor to managementon technological direction.
• Understand TS7700DS8900 architecture and features. Provide review and recommendationabout new features and capabilities. Report what should beimplement or not.
• Prepare and submit storagerelated I/O gen request to the Hardware team review I/O gen reportfor accuracy.
• Lead storage (tape and DASD)tech refresh projects including plan (design and preparation) tomove to new devices with minimum disruption to the business backout procedure and execution coordination.
• Responsible for critical problem solving process andprocedure development for Mainframe Storage relatedchanges.
• Researching new technologies andproviding recommendations for Ford to evaluate
• Being on top of industry/segment trends. Development andRecommending Storage Management Strategies
• Supporting Cloud Migrations
• Mainframe application modernization efforts
• Planning/Implement Storage tool conversions as required
• Leading/implementing Proof of Concepts (POCs)as required
• Focal point for system audits andprocess improvements.
