This role will support the Senior Architect (aka Chief Technical Architect) to provide Enterprise design and support expertise for a range of ICT Projects and the overall CTP Architecture. Ensure the CTP infrastructure, systems, and services are built, designed, and architected to ensure that they are secure and efficient in use.

This role requires a flexible working approach and self-motivation to help ensure that the various environments are well-architected and documented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document current “As-Is” and future “To-Be” designs for projects.
  • Design solutions
  • Create Architecture diagrams and data sets to help communicate the changes occurring across CTP.
  • Identify technical experiments to validate design decisions.
  • Work across projects and with other architects to ensure that all systems align with the Strategic vision and any technical debt identified.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of ITIL and Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
  • Expertise in designing solutions hosted on AWS, including their Well-Architected Framework and Landing Zones (experience of PALZ is a bonus)
  • Expertise in designing and working with AzureAD and Office 365 Services
  • Expertise in designing a Linux environment within a larger Windows environment.
  • Expertise in VMware Virtualization Expertise in documenting business processes using BPMN (or similar frameworks)

Experience:

  • Experience and knowledge of the Government Security Classifications levels and an understanding of the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework
  • Experience in designing systems via Architectural Frameworks, especially TOGAF
  • Experience in writing Design Documentation suitable for accreditation up to IL5
  • Experience working with Accreditor to ensure the design meets the needs of the security standards being applied for IL5 Expertise in designing a Microsoft Windows environment with a significant combination of the following key components:
    • Windows Server
    • Microsoft SQL server
    • Active Directory
    • GPO
    • High Availability services
    • Windows desktop / VDI
    • Certificates and PKI design
    • RSA Tokens
  • Expertise in designing a network infrastructure with a significant combination of the following key components:
    • Cisco Routing / Switches
    • TCP/IP
    • Network Services (DNS/DHCP/NTP)
    • Intrusion protection / Detection.
  • Expertise in designing and developing software solutions using some of the following technologies:
    • .NET (VB, C#, ASP.NET, .NET CORE)
    • MVC Framework
    • Python
    • JavaScript (REACT, Bootstrap Frameworks)
    • Database design SQL / SQL Server NoSQL technologies e.g. MongoDB, Hadoop, etc.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Able to demonstrate Expert knowledge in the design and build of resilient designs
