About the Role
DP World are currently recruiting an experienced Operations Manager to join our client site in Wolverhampton. This is a critical role responsible for improving performance, productivity, and efficiency through the implementation of effective methods and strategies.
How you will contribute
Health Safety and Environmental
Drive behavioural based safety throughout the plant and ensure delivery of the HS&E KPI’s and take ownership of key actions that relate to operational safety. Leveraging a strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, move the plant forwards in its journey of Zero Harm.Quality / Lean
Create and implement best practice in manufacturing, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. Oversee & review root cause analysis data and identify trends that indicate a change in performance and implement an action plan accordingly. Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes so to aid and improve operational performance.Delivery
Manage the daily activities of the logistics linefeed operation to maximise scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer. Interface with the customer to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence. Enact contingency plans as needed and escalate and direct activities during operational problems etc. Identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to local and senior management and participate in analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.Cost
Allocation & management of budgets, including overtime, headcount, department costs aligned to customer demand requirements and demonstrate the ability to flex costs accordingly.People
Responsible for providing effective leadership to the supervisors and/or team, enforcing Company standard and act as a role model. Proactively engage with the workforce to adopt a continuous improvement approach. Full management of the team, including coaching, motivation, appraisals, reviews, KPI's, one-2-one meetings, disciplinary matters and grievances as required.What you will bring
Relevant previous experience of managing teams including consistent delivery of production targets. Proven technical knowledge and skills with a broad understanding of the interfaces into multiple departments. Ability to quickly understand and challenge Logistics processes. ERP Systems knowledge (SAP). Understanding of Logistics methods and procedures. Good analytical skills in data control and understanding of production processes. Experience of Customer Relationship Management. Good problem-solving techniques and understanding of lean manufacturing principals. Competency in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint.Compensation
