Randox Laboratories are currently seeking applications to join our Genomics Team as a Next Generation Sequencing Reporting Scientist.
The main function of this position is to perform data interpretation and clinical reporting for panel tests, verify QC metrics are met with regards to sample processing, and to accurately maintain all paperwork with regards to sequencing runs.

The position will be based at the Randox Science Park in Antrim, and the working hours will be from Monday to Friday, 08.40 to 17.20.

The role: To ensure strict adherence to all laboratory procedures relating to sample log-in and data handling. To ensure that all assays meet the specified QC parameters for DNA extraction, during the NGS library preparation and NGS sequencing and data analysis. To provide clinical interpretation of NGS results. To assist in the accurate maintenance of RCLS protocols. To assist in the training and development of staff. Attend meeting of various national and international societies such as ACGS, BSGM, ESHG, IMDN, etc.

The Candidate:
Essential: Qualified to degree level in Molecular Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a Life Science. Experience working within a laboratory environment. Possess excellent verbal and written communication and organisational skills. Computer literacy.
Desirable: Experience in Molecular Diagnostic Testing, sequence variant interpretation and clinical reporting. Experience in standard computer applications.
