School Crossing Patrol

NANT CELYN PRIMARY | BLENHEIM ROAD PRIMARY | YSGOL GYMRAEG CWMBRAN – HENLLYS WAY AND BLENHEIM ROAD SITE

HRS/WEEK: 7 HOURS 5 MINUTES PER WEEK | 8:20AM to 9:05AM AND 3:10 PM to 3:50PM  (MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

WEEKS/YEAR: TERM TIME ONLY

To ensure the safety of children crossing the road at a designated point between specified times. The discharge of these duties must not be to the detriment of other road users.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

To ensure the safety of children crossing the road at a designated point. To use all uniform and equipment provided for the safety of yourself, children and all other members of the public, especially when stopping traffic on the Highway. To maintain control over children who are awaiting your instructions to cross. To have regard to the Council’s responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2009. To report any problems or difficulties to the Manager of the SCP Service.

Qualifications / Experience: Essential Good awareness of road use and traffic awareness. Able to meet the physical requirements of the job. Punctuality. Good Communicator. Good Community spirit. Reliable. Ability to travel in a timely manner to meet the requirements of the post.

Previous experience of working with children and/or the public.
