We are on the lookout for a dynamic Procurement professional with Category Management and commercial experience along with an interest in technology. Asda have embarked on one of the largest retail programmes in the industry, which will see us change or transform almost every aspect of the Technology estate, as well a significant amount of spend, previously managed by Walmart.
As part of this we have an exciting opportunity to lead key areas of procurement and commercial activity within the Infrastructure area. This will involve managing the new landscape, along with playing a significant role in business-as-usual operations.

The Category Manager role has accountability for end-to-end sourcing activity, with a particular focus on Hardware & Networking within infrastructure.
This will involve setting the strategy for approximately £35-50m of spend, including management of both Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, critical to our operations.
You'll also influence and partner technology and business towers to help deliver our transformation activity, and help ensure a best in class technology cost base.

Demonstrable Procurement experience Confident in defining, constructing and managing complex contracts. Experience of influencing at senior levels within a large organisation (up to senior director level) Ability to work in an agile manner to flex and support the business needs in a fast-paced transformation environment Experience of defining and executing category strategies Experience in Technology Procurement is desirable but absolutely not essentialWe are passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive workforce, representative of the communities we serve, and are creating ways to inspire diverse talent to join Asda.
