Job summary

You will work within the service, whilst undertaking a programme of training at University of Sheffield, where you will progressively learn how to deliver low intensity interventions, at high volume, with patients with anxiety and depression. You will receive excellent support in the role including extensive clinical and caseload supervision.

Main duties of the job

You will have experience of working with Adults who have experienced common Mental Health Difficulties and will be able to inspire and engage people and have the ability to identify barriers and understand client needs, while possessing excellent motivational skills. You will have an understanding of working with adults with a variety of complex needs, and experience of working with mental health, physical health, learning needs and substance misuse issues would be an advantage for this post.

Your knowledge of working within a community-based service is essential and will have equipped you with the relevant communication and interpersonal skills required to build good therapeutic relationships with clients.

You will be able to demonstrate high standards in written communication as well as excellent verbal communication including telephone skills. You will also be able to evaluate and put in place the skills and knowledge that you are provided with as part of the training and development opportunities included in this role.

About the role

You will work within the service, whilst undertaking a programme of training at University of Birmingham, where they will progressively learn how to deliver low intensity interventions, at high volume, with patients with anxiety and depression.

You will receive excellent support in the role including extensive clinical and caseload supervision.

You will offer a range of effective treatment and support available to people with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety and extend this support to provide psychological intervention services to adults with an intellectual/learning disability who have concurrent common mental health problems. You will split their time between university attendance and working in service, conducting assessments, and providing face to face and remote Low Intensity Interventions.

Please note: It is a requirement of the role, that successful candidates seek BABCP accreditation following 6 months of relevant patient contact.

Successful applicants will hold:

Qualifications suitable to their level of study Postgraduate Certificate (M Level) qualification route A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent (, Registered Nurses and AHPs). Graduate Certificate route 2 Advanced Level GCEs (A-C) or equivalent (, B-tec, GNVQ, NVQ Level 3 and 4 Relevant experience necessary for clinical practice Significant experience of working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem.
