About us

We are a practice employing 25 people, with a full complement of staff ranging from GP's to Nurses and other clinical roles and support staff such as receptionists and administrators. We occupy lovely purpose built premises at the Old Manor Hospital site.

We all work as a team together and have a "work family" ethos supporting each other.

Specialrequirements of the post

Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulnessand be able to work under pressure without direct supervision. To have excellent communication skills andpatience. To be reliable and observe strict confidentiality on all mattersrelating to the practice and its an effectiveand efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitorsto the Practiceprocedures and protocols accordingly.

Deal with all generalenquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.

Using your ownjudgement and communication skills, ensure that patients who need urgentconsultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.

Receive and make callsas required for Doctors, Nurses, other members of the Primary Health Care Teamand the Practice Manager. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy ofdetail and prompt appropriate delivery. Process prescription requests as per practice policy. Signpost patients as per practice policy.

Retrieve informationfrom the computer as and when required.

Enter patientinformation onto the computer as required.To include appropriate read-coding of all clinical information andcorrespondence. Ensure minimum QOF datais recorded and use templates where necessary.

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE or Equivalent ECDL /computer experience Clerical experience Experience and ability of clear and concise message taking Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including public and professionals/companies/suppliers/NHS colleagues Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure Understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for confidentiality Clear handwriting/accurate spelling Ability to multi-task whilst maintaining attention to detail Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities Self-Motivating Flexibility essential Ability to work in an ever changing environment
