This is an exciting opportunity to get involved and gain experience in the management of the Council’s Bus Stations and main park & rides. This is a challenging time for the passenger transport in Fife as the industry looks to recover from the pandemic. This important post will play an active part in the recovery and reform of the bus interchanges in Fife and will help to shape their future.
The successful candidate will assist the Lead Consultant (Bus Network & Stations) with the management and operation of the 4 Council bus station and 2 main park & ride sites ensuring that practices and procedures are adhered to.

Key areas of work include:
Carrying out the day to day supervision of the 13 bus station supervisors who staff the 4 Council owned bus stations and respond to urgent/emergency situations and changes in priorities. Assisting with the review of practices and procedure within the bus interchange environment to promote improvements to service delivery, customer satisfaction and more effective use of resources. Investigating and respond to internal and external enquiries, complaints and other correspondence relating to Fife’s Bus Interchanges. Assisting the Lead Consultant to ensure that each bus interchange complies with current Health & Safety legislation and that staff are aware of their responsibilities in this area. Authorising and monitoring budgetary expenditure, and also assisting the Lead Consultant with the bus interchange facilities budget, (in excess of £1m) providing information for the preparation of budgetary estimates, spending profiles and plans. Providing IT support to bus stations, developing maintaining and promoting systems as appropriate. Preparing invoice accounts on a 4 weekly basis for submission to each operator who uses the bus stations.A link to the role profile is included below. The Person
The successful candidate must have experience and knowledge in either Passenger Transport (Planning and/or Operational) or Facilities Management. You must also be educated to SCQF level 7 or equivalent experience.
