The post of Junior Medical Education Fellow will work within the Medical Education department It would ideally suit doctors wishing to expand their clinical teaching experience and is anticipated to appeal to those thinking undertaking an F3 year or at core level.
This is a 10 month fixed term post working in education (20hrs per week).
The working pattern would be fixed days although there would need to be some flexibility. Weekends are not included.
The post offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated doctor to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding team delivering medical undergraduate and multi-professional. Due to the short term nature of the role/service demand, the successful candidate must hold full registration with the GMC, must have completed a Foundation Equivalent Programme.
The successful candidate must have at least 6 months experience of working within the NHS and have a good understanding of UK medical undergraduate training.
Main duties of the job
Develop a working understanding of research and education design methodology as it relates to Medical and evidence a wide-ranging portfolio of teaching experience including: small group bedside teaching, class room based teaching, clinical skills, clinical simulation and the development of elearning and other teaching resources.
Contribute to the supervision and feedback to undergraduate medical students in their trust, under the direction of an accredited educational supervisor
Contribute to University Fellow Network group learning exercises on the design and review of proposed educational development.Support the students with pastoral support and signposting.
Development of the medical education newsletter
Support the medical education faculty with OSCEs and ARCPs with foundation doctors.

The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
