Here at UPP we have an opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to work as part of our team in providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service during the summer vacation period.

This is a Full time fixed term position, working 37.5 hours per week from 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs Monday to Friday.

Role responsibilities as a Maintenance Assistant include:

Planned and Reactive Maintenance

  • Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response.
  • Decoration works and minor repairs to fixtures and fittings.
  • Ensure that the environment is maintained in accordance with the Service Level Agreement.
  • Assist with the moving of refuse, white goods, mattresses and furniture in a safe manner

Statutory Testing

  • Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and emergency lighting checks

Health and Safety

  • Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s)

Other

  • Undertake training as required
  • Other duties as commensurate with the post

You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner.

You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
