The Role

This is an exciting opportunityto start or progress your Occupational Therapy career within our friendly, supportive,and dynamic Therapy Service at Watford General Hospital. This position willallow the post holder to gain experience in elderly care.

Main duties of the job

The Responsibilities

If you are successful in yourapplication to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on theresponsibilities outlined below as well as those not included here, calltoday to discuss further:

To provide assessment and treatment for patientswith complex needs and to provide expert advice, guidance and information tohealth and social care professionals, carers, relatives and othernon-professionals.

To assess and treat own caseload of patients andmaintain own records as an autonomous practitioner with access to a seniormember of staff for advice and support on a daily basis.

To communicate with patients and with relevantmedical and nursing staff, social workers, and other health care professionals,and patients relatives and carers who may be in direct contact with regard topatient care.

To actively participate in continuingprofessional development and departmental educational and training activities.

To have clinical supervision on a regular basisby a more senior member of the team. Additional supervision takes the form ofregular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, caseconferences and reflective practices.
