An exciting opportunity has arisen for an administrator to join the trust's excellent driver training team. The role supports the day-to-day function of emergency and non-emergency driver training and includes

Preparation for driving courses Tracking and monitoring of course bookings and attendance Ensuring resources and stock is maintained. Liaison with learners, driving instructors and external agencies

The post holder will provide vital assistance to the team; this role requires a highly organised, dynamic professional who possesses the capability to work on a variety of projects. You will perform routine administrative duties such as minute taking, develop and maintain an effective and efficient filing system, create, implement and manage spreadsheets and databases. This exciting role will lead you to working with a variety of key stakeholders both inside and outside of the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will be conversant with administrative processes in a busy office environment, preferably in an education setting, experience of NHS employee systems (ESR) be an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.

About us

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualification and Education

Essential

Educated to GCSE/'O' level or equivalent standards in a minimum of 5 subjects including English and Maths. NVQ3 in Business Administration or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities

Essential

High level of skills in Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel, Outlook. Well-developed communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively through a variety of means. Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise own workload. Ability to manage own time, work under pressure, balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Understands and maintains confidentiality at all times.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

Significant experience (normally +3 years) of working in a similar role, providing high level planning and administrative support An experienced user of Microsoft Office suite. Significant experience of using the ESR/OLM system.

Personal Attributes

Essential

Ability to work with a team to deliver effective and efficient training services. Project a professional image. Willingness to work at a variety of locations, locally and regionally. Must be highly motivated, flexible, persuasive influential and assertive. Flexibility in working hours to support department needs.
