Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining relationships and contact with media, clients and associates.
- Devising, planning, running and reporting on mid-scale and large press campaigns as allocated by the Director, including delegating tasks to team members.
- Managing social media campaigns if required by the client, with the help of a Press Assistant and/or Senior Digital Manager.
- Dealing with requests for images, footage, press information, interviews and press tickets.
- Live event support and attendance at events as required.
- Planning, creating and publishing engaging social media content and copy
- Occasional live event production, e.g. press launch.
- Actively seeking out new business opportunities and contributing to tender processes.
- Some flexibility due to the nature of the work, including travelling for work.
- Actively contributing to Premier Scotland social platforms and website content.
- Contributing to the smooth running of the Company’s day-to-day business.
- Occasional requests for help with a campaign you are not directly involved in.
- Contributing to general office housekeeping and office building housekeeping as required.
- Attending a regular check-in meeting with your line manager and an annual appraisal.
- Acting as line manager to a member of the team if required.
- Any other duties within reason as requested by your line manager.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Substantial experience of working within PR either in house or in an agency setting
- Experience of creating social media content and delivering organic campaigns
- A passion for the arts and entertainment, events, hospitality, tourism, sports or games sectors.
- Established press contacts in news, arts and culture media
- An excellent understanding of media and journalism landscape
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive attitude in their approach to all tasks
- Impeccable attention to detail, and great organisation and time management skills
- Knowledge and experience of digital media practice including a good understand of the social media landscape
- Staff management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft and SharePoint software and an interest in understanding technology to benefit the efficiency of the team
Remuneration, benefits and holiday entitlement:
- Permanent contract with a 6 month probation period. Salary dependent on experience £27,000 to £32,000 per annum.
- Working hours: 35 hours per week, 9.30am to 5.30pm – occasional evening and weekend work required, flexible working available as agreed with line manager
- 31 days holiday annually pro rata (includes Scottish bank holidays) + 2 over Christmas
