The Role

 

We are looking for a Web Delivery and Development Coordinator to join our Web Delivery Team.

 

With a focus on user experience, the Web Delivery team oversees the optimisation of the Newcastle University website and related digital projects to improve the functionality and usability of our web estate. Web Delivery is within our Central Marketing Team which is responsible for campaign planning and delivery, multimedia content across all channels, and University brand management. 

 

The Web Delivery and Development Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • supporting the delivery of website projects, processes related to web development and website user support
  • aiding the administration and co-ordination of projects helping to support the Web Team managers and projects
  • co-ordinating and administrating project and support documentation for the Team leaders
  • collaborating with multiple teams to support the design and development of a range of digital projects and activity
  • Supporting website content editors by assisting in the development of training materials, helping to maintain content assets and using website optimisation tools to drive best practice and digital fluency

 

This is a full-time, fixed term for 9 months.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with Development, Delivery and Content Team managers to support the definition of project scope, and the administration required for project briefs for approval by key internal stakeholders
  • Support the administration of digital projects and campaigns from the initial stages through to final delivery, tracking project deliverables and matching those with agreed deadlines
  • As directed, help to maintain and co-ordinate project updates for internal and external stakeholders through project management tools such as Wrike, MS Teams, email and other channels for communication
  • Arrange, administrate, and participate in internal and external client debrief meetings and planning sessions
  • Develop and maintain content necessary to support the web content editor network and the principles around website best practice
  • Help to administrate and co-ordinate data and information as required for reports as directed by Team Managers
  • Provide administrative support to facilitate primary and secondary research in all projects through activities such as persona creation, customer journey mapping and user testing to inform a great user experience
  • Support the triage and administration of web support tickets and enquiries providing first line support to assign them to the correct stakeholder
  • Provide administrative support for the web development life cycle process
  • Other duties to support online and digital requirements as required by Web Team managers or the Head of Marketing Web, CRM and Analytics

 

The Person

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Ability to provide administrative support and management of tasks to aid a collaborative work environment and collaborative partnerships
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time using project management systems and or documents
  • Experience of managing external and internal suppliers to achieve business tasks
  • A digital marketing skill set and/or web design with experience of working within a digital, web, marketing or communications environment would be desirable
  • Communication skills and ability to articulate the prioritisation of tasks and decisions to inform the success a project
  • Experience of communicating with internal and external stakeholders, identifying any issues and resolving them in a timely manner
  • Interpersonal skills and experience of building relationships and communicating with multiple stakeholders, including non-marketing colleagues to understand their digital needs
  • Ability to co-ordinate and administrate a wide variety of requests with competing deadlines and limited resources
  • Strong motivation for delivering excellent customer service
  • Ability to produce written content to a standard that will allow training instructions and support materials to be easily understood

Desirable

  • Digital image editing skills and MS Excel to a basic-intermediate level 
  • Knowledge of the Higher Education sector
