Working Part Time: 30 Hours Per Week

An opportunity has arisen to work as a Health Care Assistant within the Ophthalmology department based at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The department has 7 Consultants that specialise in Oculoplastics, Glaucoma, Corneal, Retina and Age-Related Macular Degeneration. All consultants carry out cataract surgery. The ophthalmology multidisciplinary team is made up of health care assistants, registered nurses, specialist nurses, opticians, ward clerks and admin staff.

You will have an opportunity to develop ophthalmic nursing assistant skills and will rotate around the 3 areas within the department. Never two days are the same. It is an exciting opportunity to develop and use transferable skills. 

Main duties of the job

Assist the RGN in the evaluation of care and completion of patient document and formatting relevant clinical data. 

Assist the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of smooth, calm, safe, kind , effective care. Use of various diagnostic equipment tools. Training will be given and competent sign off will be documented appropriately prior to working independently.
