About the role

Are you passionate about caring for the environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water Sampling Operations team as a Sampler Technician, working with your colleagues to deliver safe drinking water for our customers, communities, and the environment.

At Northumbrian Water, we take the quality of our water very seriously, it’s our job to provide people with safe, clean drinking water. As a Sampler Technician, you play a key role in helping us achieve this.

Our Sampler Technicians travel across the North East region, sampling and carrying out chlorine measurements and other tests to make sure we’re meeting our high-quality standards.

Water is a 24/7, regional business, and our Sampler Technicians offer 365-day cover and enjoy being out and about, travelling to customer sites.

About you

If you are highly self-motivated, able to work to deadlines and have a flexible and positive ‘can do’ attitude, we want to hear from you.

You will understand Sampling and Analysis Regulations (DWI drinking water regulations, MCERTS and Private Water Supply) and have a good working knowledge of sampling processes and methods.

You will have good written and verbal communication skills along with strong attention to detail to manage the quality system.

You will be reliable and adaptable to changing and challenging situations. Ideally you will have previous sampling experience, have worked in a UKAS Laboratory accredited environment, and hold a full driving license.

The successful candidate will need a Full UK Manual driving licence.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.
