Contract Type: Full-time, long term (Temp to perm available)

Salary: £80-£95 a day

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our thriving SEN schools in the heart of Rochester.

About the School:

The school we are working with is a thriving and inclusive educational institution committed to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for all students. All students with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) from the ages of 5-18. This schools dedicated team of educators and support staff work collaboratively to empower our students to achieve their full potential and embrace students’ unique styles of learning.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.
  • Assisting the Class Teacher in creating and implementing tailored learning plans.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress and contributing to progress reviews.
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Supporting the pupils emotionally alongside their studies.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
  • Personal experience with SEN
  • Psychology, Criminology and Social Science degrees (not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
