The Role
As a Junior Electronics Technician, reporting to the RF, Test and Evaluation Team Lead, you will have a role out of the ordinary. Your overall focus will be on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) test and evaluation.
Day-to-day, you will undertake a variety of tasks within the engineering lifecycle to ensure that technical solutions meet business and customer requirements.
You will also:
Have extensive involvement in programs of work including the development of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) test plans Set up customer equipment prior to testing and throughout testing phase and deliver detailed test reports Use a variety of test equipment, including digital oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers, receivers, antennas and amplifiers regularly Have the opportunity to work away at customer sites in the UK and overseas on an occasional basis for typically up to 2-3 weeks consecutively Be able to develop your skills and experience within this role and have the opportunity to grow into a fully-fledged Electromagnetic Compatibility/Electronics Engineer within QinetiQ
This role is full time with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:30.
QinetiQ can offer a mixture of professional and on-the-job training.
Essential experience of the Junior Electronics Technician:
Electronics Engineering for both analogue and digital Electromagnetic Compatibility across design, test and fault finding Hands on design, implementation and test experience through project work A strong interest and/or experience of Radio Frequency (RF) design and testing
