Base Location: Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital sites with regular attendance to University of Winchester
Please be aware that maternity services are moving to Bournemouth in 2025.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Hold a minimum of 96 UCAS credits with level 3 qualifications such as A-Level or BTEC level 3 qualification to include English language and Mathematics OR Access to Higher Education qualification in health. Completed Care Certificate or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
Current experience within a maternity department Continued up to date evidence based knowledge of a maternity setting
Skills
Essential criteria
Ability to communicate effective using both verbal and written skills Demonstrate the ability to exercise accountability, autonomy and responsibility. Able to recognise own limitations and to seek advice appropriately. Demonstrate an ability to organise/prioritise workload. Have a knowledge of and demonstrate your understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct Standard keyboard and IT skills

Demonstratable insight into the role of the midwife To have knowledge and understanding of trust policies and processes and national maternity related guidance

Essential criteria
Able to commute to attend all requirements of the apprenticeship (academic and placement) Meets ESFA eligibility criteria for apprenticeships: Resident in the UK for 3 years prior to start date of the apprenticeship
