Salary: £22,308 (full time hours per week) -

Pro rata equates to £17, for 30 hoursper week

Closing Date: Midnight 2nd June 2024 - We willbe accepting applications and interviewing on a rolling basis and the vacancymay be withdrawn before the closing date if a suitable candidate is found.

We seek to appoint an experienced person to join the hospiceHousekeeping Team on a fixed term contract for 6 months.

Working asa member of the Housekeeping team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout theHospice ensuring work schedules are followed to the standards required.

Main duties of the job

Do you have an eye for detail and take pride in providing first rate housekeeping services?

Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in maintaining ahigh standard of cleanliness throughout the Hospice ensuring work schedules arefollowed to the standards required. Thiswill involve moving and handling tasks, as directed by the line manager, to becarried out in adherence with Hospice moving and handling policy.

As an experienced housekeeper providinga comprehensive service primarily in the Hospice Education Centre andoffice areas, you will ensure high levels of cleanliness are maintained at alltimes. Up to date knowledge of COSHH helpful.

Flexibility will be required asthe role will also form part of the team proving housekeeping support acrossthe main Hospice site. Consideration ofyour surroundings is vital care, compassion and discretion required at alltimes.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Carry out daily cleaning of patients’ rooms and en suites, demonstrating sensitivity to the privacy and individual needs of patients, families/carers and colleagues Ensure infection control policies and procedures are adhered to when carrying out duties. Vacuum all floor surfaces to the required standards and carry out periodic shampooing of carpets and spot shampooing as appropriate. Damp dusting and cleaning of furniture, fittings, telephones, ledges, skirting boards, banisters, window sills, internal partitions, pipes and radiators.

To carry out such other duties which may reasonably be requested as this is a broad reflection ofthe current duties. It may be amendedand developed in the light of experience and

Possess a minimum of 2 years relevant housekeeping experience Working knowledge of health and safety requirements including COSHH

Desirable

Experience of working within a Medical/Clinical environment would be advantageous. Experience of working within a team Experience of dealing with vulnerable people
