Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experience research nurse or matron to join the research leadership team at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the care provided to our patients is of high quality and safe as well as aimed at improving patient outcomes. They will also be link in across the trust into senior management meetings and contribute at senior meetings across the trust, advocating for patients at all levels. Additionally they will help drive the initiative to have more nurses, AHPs and clinical scientists lead and develop research studies within LHCH. They will be a point of expertise and provide assurances to the trust that the research carried out at LHCH adheres to national and local guidance and policies.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for line managing the senior research nurses, providing leadership and any support required for managing HR issues across the research delivery team. They will be responsible for ensuring that the research is delivered to trust and national mandated metrics as well as identifying ways to diversify and grow the research portfolio. They will work closely with the Clinical Director for Research, The Director for Research Operations and the Medical Director to deliver the research strategy. Additionally they will liaise closely with the Senior leaders, matrons and nursing staff working across the NIHR Liverpool Clinical Research Facility to grow the early phase research. They post holder will also be responsible for mentorship and training across the delivery workforce as well as providing access to research specific training for clinical staff across the trust.

Previous experience as a senior research nurse & experience co-ordinating clinical research studies.
