Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Provision of advice on the management of species-rich grasslands to maintain or improve their biodiverse habitat quality. Ensure species-rich grassland conservation and management is adequately represented when land management changes are being assessed or promoted.  Identification or verification of species-rich grassland sites across Scotland both in the field and through the analysis of data provided from both historic surveys or data gathered by others. Work closely with other organisations to further the conservation of species-rich grasslands in Scotland.

Skills: (Please refer to these in your Supporting Statement)

Knowledge of grassland ecology and vegetation classification. A good understanding of factors influencing grassland site condition and the management actions required to improve biodiversity. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, including the use of relevant IT. Knowledge of casework advice and ability to provide clear and targeted advice to a range of staff and stakeholders at an appropriate level of detail. Experience of agricultural support system in Scotland. Plant identification skills to allow completion of site assessments. Knowledge of other lowland habitats often found in association with lowland grassland habitats. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a dispersed team. Ability to plan and manage workloads, and work to deadlines. Driving license or other means of transport
