GSL Education are on the lookout for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Ringwood. You will provide exceptional support to students with special educational needs, guiding them to reach their full potential through personalised and heartfelt care.

About the role:
In the role of a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will be essential in uplifting students with special educational needs, guaranteeing they benefit from a tailored and inclusive educational experience.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction to students with SEN.
  • Work closely with classroom Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Provide support and guidance to Teaching Assistants and other staff working with SEN students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress and needs.
  • Stay informed about current best practices and developments in special education.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
