About the Role

This is a Full-Time, Reduced Year role: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. 

Foundation Studies are looking for a competent Job Coach to support SEN students to enhance their strengths and employability skills. Working within the World of Work Pathway - Sourcing work placement opportunities to enable SEN students to gain employment skills. Supporting students to develop their confidence, life skills in preparation for adulthood and work related skills for SEN students.

What You Will Do

Developing effective job coaching and employment plans.  Communication with SEN students to understand their goals and to enable students to reach their full potential.  Undertake training/orientation prior to beginning of work placement. Provide ongoing support in the workplace as required. To be negotiated with the student and employer on an individual basis. Contribute to reviews providing feedback on progress in line with the RARPA process. Complete progress reviews with employer / business, Course Lead, Programme Manager and student.

About You

Educated to at least NVQ3 or equivalent. English and Mathematics at least Level 2 or above or a willingness to improve in 1 or both disciplines to a level 3 or above. Experience of working with SEN students. Good knowledge of Equality legislation and the rights of disabled individuals in the workplace. Understanding of the job preparation process and strategies to assist to support and develop SEN students with employment skills. Good organisational and administrative skills.
