We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist, Band 8a, who we would like to support to progress in their career. We will provide relocation costs for the right candidate.

Our team of Psychologists & Psychological therapists are passionate about developing services that create meaningful change based on lived experience, so that people flourish, feel connected and empowered to pursue their aspirations.

This permanent role can be offered as a full-time opportunity for 1 person working across 2 localities or, as job share for 2 people working on a part-time basis into a locality each. We can offer a variety of flexible working options and welcome opportunities to work into other localities and specialisms.

Main duties of the job

Join our friendly Division of Psychology and Psychological Therapies (DPPT) at a truly exciting transformational time for us with our focus on 'Living Well' Community Mental Health Framework changes and trauma-informed care in our CMHTs. Together, these developments have collaboration, lived experience and compassionate relationships at the core and DPPT Services have a pivotal role.

You will provide individual & group clinical work with your colleagues, promoting psychological ideas by offering advice and consultation in addition to supervision and training to colleagues, multi-disciplinary practitioners, the wider organisation and contribute to service development.

We support and develop our staff to work with complexity, eg, by access to training to support work with complex trauma & offer specialist supervision 1:1 or in facilitated groups for DBT, CFT, complex dissociation, Psychodynamic, CAT, CBT or EMDR. We are strongly committed to research, there are many opportunities in our newly formed Division.

About us

You will be based in High Peak Living Well Community Mental Health Team at Buxton, with an option of also working in neighbouring North East Derbyshire Living Well CMHT at Killamarsh.

You will be joining a dynamic group of over 250 staff in our Division of Psychology & Psychological Therapies.

You will be joining us at a time of exciting, innovative and values-based transformation for place based and needs led integrated care across our localities, with trauma informed and trauma sensitive practice at the forefront of these developments.

Training and Qualifications

Essential

Good Honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above). Eligibility for Graduate membership of BPS Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist by the HCPC Eligible for Chartered status of BPS Post qualification training in supervision of other psychologists Post qualification specialist training/experience of assessment/intervention for people with complex mental health problems

Desirable

Post qualification training in a therapy model Chartered status with BPS

Experience

Essential

Experience of working with clients across a variety of settings Commitment to developing specialist area of expertise relevant to the post through significant training, personal study, etc

Desirable

Expertise and interest in specialist area relevant to adult mental health

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

Very high level of interpersonal and communication skills enabling written and oral presentation and receipt of complex and sensitive information, to facilitate acceptance, and relate effectively in an emotive and hostile environment

Enthusiasm for psychology in relation to MH Problems. Interest in developing/consolidating skills in working with complex trauma and associated diagnoses
