As part of our continuous expansion in the UK market we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Building Services Engineer to consolidate and grow our Building Surveying and Building Services Engineering offering in Oxfordshire and across surrounding regions.

You’ll have opportunity to develop a range of skills, opening career opportunities within the Construction industry and beyond. At the same time, you’ll be making a difference to the way people work and live in buildings and tackling climate change through innovative engineering.

The individual will work closely with the Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Project Management teams, along with our regional network of Building Services Engineers to support the offering of M&E consulting and surveying services in our Oxford office.

Requirements:

HNC or higher in Building Services Engineering. Student/Graduate CIBSE/IET Membership is preferable, with desire and motivation to work towards professional accreditation. The ability to demonstrate a highly motivated, pro-active approach to work matters. Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel.

Desirable:

Have experience of using industry standard software, including AutoCAD and Hevacomp/IES/TAS/Relux/Dialux, to produce drawings and design calculations. Project and programme management experience – NEC Supervisor accreditation.

Responsibilities:

The majority of your workload will comprise working alongside our Building Surveyors to assess the condition of Building Services across a range of building types. You will not be required to have specialist expertise in all areas of building services. You must, however, be able to identify and confidently describe both mechanical and electrical systems, review maintenance records, provide an assessment of their general condition, identify legislative deficiencies, assess remaining asset service life, repairs required and cyclical replacement costs.  Produce tender documentation to include drawings, specifications, risk assessments and pricing schedules. Produce feasibility reports and budget costs. Attend client/design team meetings, record minutes. Understand and work in accordance with regulations, standards, and guidance, including Building regulations and CIBSE guides. Maintain service quality standards and a culture of continuous improvement and constructive expertise. Participate in relevant internal/external training initiatives. Keep abreast of industry issues and developments in best practice, in particular focussing on Net Zero initiatives and low carbon technologies. Communicate and interact with others coherently, in accordance with the organisation's values. As well as technical competence, we are looking for someone with the ability to think laterally, who possesses first class communication skills, has good commercial awareness and who will assist in providing an exemplary service to our clients. This role has excellent prospects for an individual who has a strong ambition to progress and enjoys working collaboratively within a vibrant team. You will be given the platform to build and shape our Building Services offering alongside our growing Building Surveying team.
