Job summary
Although this post will be based in Outpatients, it will be primarily located in Main Outpatients; however, you will be expected to rotate to other OPD areas to support other specialties if required to meet the needs of the service. The post holder/s will be required to work flexible working times including evenings and weekends. Set days of working will not be authorised due to the flexibility of the service.
You will be required to provide quality planned care for patients across all OPD areas and to support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the OPD departments.

Job Purpose:
The post-holder/s are responsible for direct clinical care for individual patients and groups of patients within their area of work. After an agreed period of time, the post holder will be designated to co-ordinate the department in the absence of the department Sister, The post holder is expected to supervise junior staff and be able to teach qualified and unqualified staff, including pre and post registration students.

Job description
Job responsibilities
The post holder will be be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centered, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence. They will be an accountableprofessional and have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individuals defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.
