The post holder will support and work with the team to develop, implement, monitor, review and embed strategies and frameworks to underpin the principles of clinical governance in Women's Services; ensuring integration of Clinical Risk and Governance objectives with that of the Trust.

Qualifications/Training

Essential

Registered Midwife with current NMC registration Educated to Degree level or equivalent Mentorship qualification evidence of continuing professional development Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Desirable

Masters level qualification in related subject area or willing to work towards IT qualifications or recent training Quality Improvement Methodology Training

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

Evidence of effective team working Experience of leading , motivating & supporting a team Knowledge of Risk Management and Governance Knowledge and understanding of the patient safety incident framework

Desirable

Root Cause Analysis/ Incident training Report writing

Personal Attributes & Skills

Essential

Ability to organise and prioritise own workload Ability to co-ordinate and chair meetings. Ability to constantly apply analytical skills to practice Able to work effectively within the multi- disciplinary team. Conveys written information clearly and accurately to a wide range of recipients. Speaks confidently, conveying clear messages to a wide range of listeners. Ability to diffuse difficult situations and handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy Understand the need for confidentiality. Ability to manage personal emotions and stress.
