Job Description

The Account Director provides strategic guidance in developing and leading tactical integrated marketing plans to clients. This role serves as an extension of the client brand team and day-to-day relationship lead, addressing concerns while identifying incremental opportunities. Directors are also accountable for counseling clients on effective marketing strategy based on research and best practices to meet brand objectives.

The Account Director owns the book of business and business growth efforts. Internally, the Account Director organizes, grows, and develops the team and externally ensures health in the client relationship in and beyond the assigned brand team.

As a full-service agency our Account Directors have to opportunity to lead/cooperate to a great variety of business areas including:

Global brand launches Global & Regional brand management Digital Transformation Omnichannel customer centric engagement Digital campaign roll-out Competitive Intelligence/Qualitative Market Research Market Access MCM Patient support campaigns Business operations advisory Sales/Training support materials Medical Communications and HCP support materials Film, video and podcast creation Onsite/Virtual/Hybrid Events & congresses Digital Therapeutics

Duties and responsibilities

The Account Director participates in vision setting for the client business, ensuring the broader team executes it through to delivery of work; They establish cross-collaboration with internal teams and agency partners , and foster sound relationships internally; Externally, the Director ensures health in the client relationship in and beyond the assigned brand team; This role also provides clients with research, analytical metrics, and strategic insight to develop and presents effective solutions; Account Directors oversee the delivery and financial impact on budget , and brand target goals and objectives with the client; The AD identifies, develops, and converts new business opportunities with existing and future agency clients; Negotiates contracts and fees with marketing directors and client procurement personnel. Learns new product and services features and benefits Responds to complaints and manage issues to ensure customer success and satisfaction

Qualifications

Skills and Competencies

Strong and applied understanding of strategic planning , brand planning, pharmaceutical product life cycle management, digital development, and processes Demonstrates accuracy in reviewing PMO/junior team-developed scopes Demonstrates accountability for financial tracking and management of client budgets and communicating with client teams and senior leadership Owns and leads monthly budget reconciliation and forecasting efforts Able to collaborate and effectively manage at all levels and functions internally, and externally with clients and agency partners Demonstrates leadership and mentoring skills Able to create strategic decks and lead/facilitate presentations Big picture thinker with an understanding of client business and long-term goals Demonstrates problem solving skills Exhibits leadership and strong mentoring skills Demonstrates grace under pressure Thinks critically, knows when the team is moving too fast and needs to pause and re-evaluate Able to de-escalate a situation and create a clear path for the team to move forward Externally, serves as the client’s point person for larger-scale conflict

Qualifications and Education

Educated to a degree level - ideally in communication/marketing, economy, biology/pharmacy and/or other scientific pathway) / MA in business administration, sales, marketing or similar relevant field; Min 10 years of experience in healthcare and life sciences: Account Directors have usually gained considerable previous agency experience, typically as an Account Manager and/ or Senior Account Manager.
