About the role and school

Are you a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a Level 4 qualification or above and have a background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is looking for someone to join a dynamic school in Runcorn who can make a significant difference on young learners in an SEN environment. This school teaches a general curriculum but also takes a pro-active approach to learning with subjects such as hair and beauty, construction and engineering. 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support to SEN pupils in the classroom to students in both group settings and 1:1.
  • Work alongside the teacher with the general overseeing of a classroom, and assist the teacher with the development of student progress.
  • Supporting pupils from aged 11-16 with individual and SEN needs in different subjects within the curriculum.
  • Monitor and report student progress back to the teaching team.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS cleared & uploaded to the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Full right to work within the UK.
  • Level 4 or above Teaching Assistant certification.
  • Experience working with SEN students in an educational setting.  
  • Patience, empathy and a proactive approach to supporting those with SEN and the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
