Inverness, United Kingdom GCU UK Ltd Full time

Are you ready to lead the charge in maintaining compliance and operational excellence for GCU's vehicle fleet? We're seeking a dynamic Regional Transport Lead to ensure our fleet operates smoothly and adheres to all legal standards.

As a Regional Transport Lead, your main goal will be to keep our fleet in top shape, supporting our local Operations Team by ensuring vehicles are always ready for action. You'll manage and develop the Depot Managers and Transport Manager Team, overseeing everything from absence and performance management to recruitment and training. Your technical knowledge will be vital, as you'll stay updated with DVSA, DVLA, and industry standards, ensuring all changes are integrated into our processes.

Fleet management will be a key part of your role, involving the allocation of vehicles to contracts, managing insurance and statutory documentation, and keeping our online Vehicle Operator Licensing system accurate. You'll also be the main contact with the DVSA, handling all regulatory matters and coordinating formal responses and action plans.

Your focus on service improvement will drive consistency across our fleet compliance, working towards a unified system and delivering on our Transport Compliance Operational Plan. Health and safety will be paramount, and you'll lead by example, promoting safe working practices and ensuring everyone is vigilant about safety.

Quality is crucial, and you'll champion our "Right First Time" ethos, ensuring personal and team compliance with GCU processes, maintaining accurate records, and reporting diligently.

Qualifications for this role include a Transport Manager CPC with regular refreshers, experience in managing mechanical workshops and work scheduling, and a driving licence (Category B). An IOSH Managing Safely qualification is desirable. You'll need strong people management skills, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
