Hands-On Warehouse Operations Manager

We're seeking a results-driven, hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to optimize processes, lead our team, and effectively manage resources in a fast-paced wooden garden panel products warehouse. The ideal candidate will roll up their sleeves and spend 70% of their time on the warehouse floor, implementing efficiency improvements and ensuring smooth operations during peak seasons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize warehouse layout, picking processes, and replenishment strategies to achieve a 20% increase in output per head
  • Develop and execute effective resource planning strategies to navigate seasonal demand fluctuations
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of 10 experienced warehouse pickers and operatives
  • Maintain strict location discipline, ensure accurate inventory management, and improve OTIF performance
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and transport teams to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment with fluctuating demand
  • Proven success in implementing process improvements and driving efficiency gains in a hands-on role
  • Demonstrated experience in effective resource planning and allocation in response to changing demand
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform essential job functions in a fast-paced warehouse environment
