General Dynamics Mission Systems is looking to engage a  Software Asset Controller (Contractor)

This role is for a Software Asset Controller to provide expertise in Software License Risk Review & Procurement ans Software Asset Management post Procurement

Work Tasks Include:

SW License Risk Review & Procurement

Provides commercial software license terms review and assessment of risks across the Avionics and TacCIS business that GDUK meets the legal and commercial obligations required regarding the application and deployment of software that all software licence orders, renewals and procurements are processed accurately and efficiently in line with Acquisition of COTS Software Products procedure.Support the Supply Chain procurement of COTS and FOSS software downloads.Support internal stakeholder’s issues pertaining to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Trade of Arms Regulations (ITAR) with respect to the procurement of software and software documentation from vendors. 

SW Asset Management post Procurement

The management of software assets and licencing throughout Programme Lifecycle Understand all software inventory items and their licensing issues and provide the appropriate advice and guidance to the through-life transition of software from the procurement and receipt of individual Configuration Items (CIs) from vendors to their incorporation into builds and sell off to the Customer. This will include taking ownership of software inventory items and managing purchased software licences for development and production release.Support Engineering/CM Departments in the creation of software licence Bills of Materials (BoMs) and their release into Oracle ERP.Facilitate regular audits to reconcile installed software against purchased software licences to verify compliance.Validate and report on the programme software licence status.Undertake Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting in line with Software Asset Management requirements.Support the programme GFX managers to facilitate GFx issuance from customers.Facilitate regular audits to reconcile installed software against purchased software licences to verify compliance.

Qualifications

You will also have experience of the following:

Strong understanding of the software market place Strong understanding of software licensing structures Contract and Supplier Relationship Management Strong negotiation skills Ability to works on complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity Good presentation skills Strong reporting and analytical skills Experience in software asset management (SAM) Experience in software procurement and EULA management Commercial terms and acumen Desirable – Legal knowledge and application of EULA

This hybrid role is based within our offices in Oakdale - we are open to working arrangements with time spent in office and working from home.

Additional Information

General Dynamics Mission Systems utilises QDOS IR35 Status Review. The requirements of this contract have been evaluated as Outside IR35 – Prior to the engagement start you will need to complete a status questionnaire in order to receive the finalised status determination.

All successful/appointed applicants must be able to obtain a level of UK Security clearance that is appropriate for the role and undertake suitable Right to work checks.
