Job summary

Oxleas are seeking to recruit a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join one of our established and MDT integrated secondary care psychological therapies teams. We have a new vacancy for a full-time Band 7 position, within the ADAPT Team (Anxiety, Depression, Affective disorders, Personality disorders and Trauma). The team is based at the Erith Centre, located on the site of Erith and District Hospital in Erith, Kent, and serves the London Borough of Bexley. This is essentially the non-psychosis community mental health team for 18-65yr olds.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic psychologist to join a team that is currently developing new and innovative ways of working with people with complex emotional needs. This includes 'whole team approach' interventions such as SCM (Structured Clinical Management), alongside more established ways of working with attachment difficulties and trauma ( MBT, CBT, CAT, Psychodynamic, EMDR, Systemic & 3rd wave approaches).Oxleas has a strong tradition in promoting psychological therapies and embraces multi-modal formulation-based approaches.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will offer psychological assessment and deliver individual and group-based interventions using a range of models, including CBT. Personal therapeutic interests and specialty development are actively encouraged and supported. This can be via formal training as well as established specialist supervision forums which are provided across the Trust.

The psychological therapies team is inclusive of different professions and modalities, including Clinical and Counselling psychologists, Art, Systemic and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists and Assistant Psychologists. Regular reflective practice is offered to the psychological therapies team alongside individual supervision. Oxleas has a strong history in staff support and professional development, offering a range of CPD opportunities within the Trust. Opportunities to develop supervision skills are consistently available and Oxleas has a long-standing relationship with clinical and counselling doctorate programs in taking trainees and developing the wider workforce.

The successful post holder will have experience of working within NHS settings and will work closely with the multidisciplinary team as well as liaising with a wide range of agencies. This post is ideal for newly qualified psychologists to join an established and supportive psychology team and similarly suitable for an existingband7wanting to diversify their experience .

Current registration with the Health Care Professions Council is desirable however trainees due to qualify this year but who have not yet gained HCPC accreditation are encouraged to apply.
