Hours: Full time 18 - hours per week

Shift Pattern: Mon-Friday,8:30to 16:30 OR Mon, Weds, Fri

Pay Rates Day: TBC

Workingas part of the Therapy and Social Work Team, the post holder will providespecialist occupational therapy assessment and treatment of oncology patientswith diverse, chronic presentations and highly complex needs due to theircancer diagnosis and/or treatment. The role will include working withinpatients and outpatients, reviewing patients face-to-face, over the telephoneand in our new Therapy and Wellbeing Gym. Effective occupational therapymanagement will include admission avoidance, complex discharge planning,cognitive and physical rehabilitation, and supportive symptom management fromdiagnosis through to end of life care.

To provide specialist occupational therapyassessment and treatment of oncology patients with diverse presentations andcomplex physical and psychological conditions. This may

includeinter-disciplinary assessments and treatments where appropriate.

To hold responsibility for own caseload, assess andmanage clinical risk within own caseload, and work autonomously with thesupport of the Team Lead Therapists. This will include effective timemanagement and prioritisation of patients within the inpatient and

outpatientsetting.

To have suitable in-depth skills in the areas ofoncology including rehabilitation and palliative rehabilitation. Undertakecomprehensive and holistic assessments, treatments, and activity programmes.

Qualifications

Essential

NHS experience Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy HCPC registration Experience of supervising junior members of staff/ occupational therapy students Knowledge and experience of implementation of standards and national guidelines as relating to Oncology patients. Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes.
