Join our dynamic Fashion Buying Team as an experienced Assistant Buyer, where you'll play a pivotal role in the seamless purchasing and production of our Childrenswear label. Collaborating closely with our design and production team, you will ensure that goods are developed and produced on schedule, within budget, and to our high-quality standards. In this role, you will work alongside the Buyer in sourcing new suppliers and managing existing relationships. Additionally, you'll be instrumental in guiding and training our team, including BAAs and Trainees, to meet targets in systems management, sample handling, and various administrative tasks.

A peek into your daily adventures:

You will be the backbone of our product lifecycle, ensuring the development and production critical path is meticulously monitored and always current. Your expertise will be crucial in assisting the Buyer to identify new supply opportunities that align with our ethical standards, and in efficiently managing the logistics of order placements, confirmations, and delivery schedules with suppliers. You will be at the forefront of maintaining seamless communication with our Supply Chain, Technical, Merchandising, and Store teams, addressing any quality control issues and swiftly sourcing replacement products when needed. Your proactive management and regular coordination with the team and suppliers will be key to achieving critical deadlines and maintaining the smooth operation of our entire supply chain.

Range Development, Planning, Trading & Market Performance

You will ensure that range plans and department spreadsheets are consistently updated and precise. Your responsibilities include:

preparing samples for meetings, assisting the Buyer during these sessions, and managing sample submissions as needed You'll be in charge of maintaining accurate and current sales information for the current season, along with conducting thorough product and price analysis of competitors. When required, you'll present comprehensive comparisons to senior team members and produce key visual and data-driven materials, such as sales figures and selections, for important meetings. Your keen eye for new development or design opportunities will be essential, as will be your involvement in overseeing ancillary items like polybags, labels, and swingers, focusing on sustainability, price, quality, and delivery. You'll also support the Buyer in the garment costing process, including price negotiation, target setting, and updating cost sheets. Additionally, you'll assist in sourcing new suppliers, ensuring alignment with our ethical and sustainability guidelines, and effectively communicating these changes to internal teams like Garment Tech and Design.

Communications & Web, Catalogue, Social Media

You will play a crucial role in managing and distributing Photo and Wholesale samples across the business, ensuring their optimal use. You'll also be instrumental in preparing for photoshoots, contributing to their efficient execution, and meticulously proofing data, website, and catalogues, providing creative alternatives whenever necessary.

prior experience working as an Assistant Buyer Excellent communication (verbal and written) The ability to establish effective relationships across all levels. A solution orientated approach with the ability to work with others find the best outcome. Ability to liaise with all departments within JoJo. Ability to take direction well and work as part of a team, but also able to work independently. Ability to work quickly and always to a very high standard with fantastic organisational skills. A meticulous eye for detail and able to identify areas for improvement. Ability to cope well under pressure and able to work to deadlines. Resilient to a changing and agile environment. previous experience in working at Assistant Buyer level  Excellent communcation and time management skills
