Teaching Personnel in partnership with a school in the Chorley area are looking to hire additional support for their school who caters for pupils with additional needs. The role has become available due to the high demand for additional support within the school, it will be full-time hours and requires you to be able to travel to and from the school in Chorley each day.

 

  • Full-time hours Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30 pm)
  • Experience working as a carer or support worker is required
  • No previous school experience required
  • No specific qualifications required but can be desirable
  • Competitive hourly rate of pay (£12.90 - £15.00) depending on experience and additional duties. 

 

Your role

As a learning support assistant your role is to provide the highest quality care and support to the pupils, this may include personal care, administering medication, supporting their learning on a 1:1 or small group scenario, providing general classroom support and life skills. Your role will include following the pupils EHC plans to ensure they are meeting their targets and receiving the care the need. Some pupils may display challenging behaviour, it will be your job to remain calm and professional in high pressured situations and remember that the pupils well being are always the priority in every situation. You must be passionate and confident in providing the highest quality care for the pupils and have a great understanding of the Safeguarding principals and Child Protection procedures.
