Fleet Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Fleet team at Greggs, in this role you will be responsible for managing the maintenance, scheduling, and overall efficiency of our fleet.

About the role

  • This is a full-time role
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • This is a regional role covering depots within the south of England. Working from home and at the northern depot locations will be required.

What you'll do

  • Manage the daily fleet availability for the respective depots in the south region.
  • Analyse and minimise key operational risks to ensure compliance in all areas of legal responsibility.
  • Continually develop vehicle specifications to reduce operational risk and environmental impact.
  • Manage suppliers with regular review meetings to ensure compliance cost control and service level agreements are maintained.
  • Manage the introduction of new assets and disposal of older assets within the operation to maintain age and use policies.
  • Through the sites team ensure manual handling equipment is maintained to the agreed scheduling and legal standards are achieved
  • Support the supply sites to achieve fleet revenue budgets and operational efficiencies.
  • Work on innovative projects to ensure sustainability and reliability of the fleet.
  • Oversee the technical asset audits of the commercial fleet and manual handling equipment to agreed schedules.
  • Support regional fleet engineers in their efforts to ensure we have a safe and compliant fleet.

  • Demonstrable experience of managing a vehicle fleet
  • Experience with vehicle engineering and technologies
  • Ability to demonstrate influential communication
  • Hold Certificate of Professional competence in National Road Haulage Operations
  • Computer literate
  • Strong demonstrable organisation and planning skills
  • Full driving license
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and results orientated individual with a passion for high safety and compliance standards to join our supply chain team as a Fleet Manager (South).
  • The base location for this role is flexible with time being spent at our depots in London, Amesbury, Kettering, Treforest & Birmingham
  • You will be responsible for managing fleet compliance and vehicle up time to support the national distribution operations in a cost-efficient way.
