Energy Market Analytics – Gas Analytics

Main responsibilities

Contribute to gas market analysis and to the generation of trade ideas to support gas trading by the EDFT gas desk, with a particular focus on quantitative analysis of the gas market. 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

Work closely with the gas analysts, gas data engineers and gas traders, and other EDFT colleagues, to develop models to further the desk’s understanding of short- and medium-term fundamental dynamics for Global and European markets Develop trading ideas based on analysis of fundamentals, statistics and option pricing Maintain a superior level of quantitative rigor in analysis and closely monitor accuracy of analytical output over time. Develop tools to monitor market developments and implied gas balances. Effectively communicate views and findings to gas traders and analysts, and to other EDFT trader, analysts and management. Willingness to be flexible and adjust to changing conditions – the list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be subject to change

Experience required

At least 1 year of experience in an energy commodities role, ideally with an strong understating of gas markets or other energy commodities Worked in a role that requires analytical skills. Knowledge of statistical analysis and other quantitative techniques

Technical requirements

Advanced degree in engineering, sciences, math, finance, or economics or equivalent experience or relevant real world experience Advanced skills in a combination of Excel, SQL, Python and statistics

Hours of work:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
