Job advert

 The forensic examination of computer systems, mobile telephones and other microprocessor-based devices in connection with criminal enquiries.

The purpose of this role is: 


To forensically image and examine digital media in accordance with recommended principles, to ensure continuity of evidence.


To prepare statements and forensic reports for court purposes and where appropriate to appear in Court as a witness in respect of investigation work completed.


To attend external premises and crime scenes, in order to assist police officers in the identification of hardware and software relevant to an investigation.


To undertake continuous professional development both internally and externally to facilitate the forensic and digital process.


To identify and recommend purchases of software and hardware that will assist in forensic and digital examinations, to evaluate procedures and assess practical processes and recommend these to other agencies.


To research and deliver internal and external training to police officers, police staff and other stakeholders.


Where directed act as a mentor to other individuals within the Cybercrime Unit who have been recently appointed or are learning requisite skills.
