Kent Community Health Foundation Trust Community Learning Disability Service provides a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting people with a learning disability to live happy, healthy andfulfilling are currently looking for a band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our local friendly andinnovative team in South Kent Coast & post will involve a range of community, office and home-based working both with people with alearning disability and the people within their circle of support. We are a close and supportive teamwho work together to aim to deliver excellent outcome-based quality care. Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide speech and language therapy assessment and intervention to adultswith a learning disability who are referred to the South Kent Coast and Thanet community LearningDisability team.

As a Speech and Language Therapist within the Learning Disability Team you will beexpected to provide evidence-based, autonomous and effective Speech and Language Therapyassessment and intervention for people who have a learning disability who may also have additionalphysical and mental health needs.

You will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and giveclinical advice and support to other professionals, support workers and the clients' care will supervise the work of our speech and language therapy associate practitioners. Caseloadallocation along with clinical roles and responsibilities will be commensurate with the post bandingfor successful candidates.

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant body(HCPC; RCSLT) Recognised degree in speech and language therapy.

Mentoring qualification equivalent

Experience

Experience of recent community/acute healthcare gained through education or work experience placement or previous employment

Desirable

Experience of working with people with a learning disability.
