The Purpose:

To lead a shift team of Security Officers, ensuring that the daily Security operational deployment remains effective. Line manage a team of officers by completing tasks like but not limited to scheduling, holiday management, sickness and absence management, wage queries, 121, LMS, performance management, training, Power BI. Controlling and coordinating response to incidents and accidents on site and ensuring that the integrity of site security is maintained throughout any Incident. Driving conformance to Group Security Policy and associated standards and developing the site security culture via L1A Programme.

Contracted Hours: 56 p/w

Shir Pattern: 6 on 3 off Days Only

Pay Rate: £12.44ph

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to a team of on duty Security Officers. Setting and ensuring appropriate standards of performance, conduct and behaviour, motivating and encouraging them, as well as setting strong moral and ethical standards. 
  • To manage the performance and development of their allocated team including but not limited to scheduling, holiday management, sickness and absence management, wage queries, 121, LMS, performance management, training records via Power BI
  • Manage the day to day security operational deployment; ensuring that the team is deployed appropriately to provide the most effective site security (all posts are effectively manned), whilst ensuring the highest standards of customer care and professionalism.
  • Ensure all Officers are aware of, and adhere to all procedures covering security, health & safety, environmental, quality and training.
  • Perform investigation into reported risks and incidents and provide summary finding reports for security management review.
  • Act as Incident Controller and Coordinator for any incidents on site; provide exercise approach to management of incidents within security team.
  • Provide regular Team Briefing sessions to ensure that the team is aware of the requirements, communicated and involved.
  • Ensure all protective security systems (physical, technical, procedural and personal) are being operated effectively, and that they are fully operational.
  • Checking that the reporting and dealing with all faults is being done in line with the laid down procedures.
  • Ensure that any reported or discovered Security or Health and Safety risks are investigated, assessed, reported and that any necessary mitigating actions are carried out.
  • To manage the on-site security team during incidents to provide full support to the emergency services and on-site incident control. During the incident, ensure that the security of the site is maintained, and that the security team are deployed effectively.
  • Carry out briefings and refresher training with officers as necessary and provide security induction to new employees, visitors and contractors where required.
  • Provide enhanced first aid toolbox training to the staff.
  • Provide enhanced site-specific fire safety toolbox training to the staff.
  • Access control management (creation of cards).
  • Take active part in creation and update of SOPs.
  • Ensure all officers are dressed appropriately and to required standard.
  • Support project management with any additional task required at the time.
  • Perform any tasks as per reasonable managerial instructions.

Essential Skills
  • Valid SIA frontline licence
  • Provide 5 years checkable work history (including any gaps and unemployment)
  • supervisory/lone management experience
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to support direct reports and other colleagues alike under conditions of pressure
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products is essential (word, excel, power point, outlook and teams)
  • Excellent verbal and written Communication Skills
  • Excellent Conflict Management skills
  • Excellent Customer Care skills
  • Considerable knowledge of security operations and procedures
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, delegate and prioritise
