The O&M team within SSE Enterprise utilities operates and maintains the groups Heat Energy centres across the UK. The Energy centres provide hot water, heating and in some instances, cooling to both residential and commercial customers on the developments that utilise each of these energy centres.
The O&M team utilise a number of specialist contractors to deliver an extensive program of both planned and reactive maintenance across all of the assets that make up each of the energy centres. The O&M Supervisor manages the delivery of this maintenance at the sites allocated to them.
Your main responsibilities within this role will be:
- Responsible for ensuring that all direct employees and sub-contractors are engaged, managed and provide services under SSE’s safety management system.
- Effectively manage the local customer contractual requirements, SSE Policies, Procedures, SHE objectives and Quality Standards to ensure the adoption of Safe Working Practices during the maintenance and repair of the plant and throughout the area of responsibility.
- Provide technical assistance to clients, contractors and work colleagues within sphere of operation and fulfil customer service requirements whilst meeting Quality Standards and SHE Objectives.
- Ensure that Statutory and Mandatory Inspections are satisfactorily carried out, diligently documented, accurately stored and maintained in line with the Company's Integrated Management System to maintain ISO Accreditation Company Standards.
- Be accountable for the reporting of both planned and reactive maintenance activity as well as the progress on fundamental long standing, design and operational issue that require addressing by asset design and project teams on Heating and Cooling that are under your remit and control.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Experience in managing service delivery to contractual Service Levels Agreements.
- Mechanical / Electrical / Controls engineering in a similar environment; with comprehensive understanding of current industry practices and relevant legislation, or extensive experience within a similar position.
- Commercial & domestic heating engineering, operating & maintaining Energy Centres including industrial CHP, MTHW, LTHW boilers, gas, oil, biomass plant, absorption chillers/ air-conditioning plant, HVAC systems and associated distribution systems/ equipment, and plant monitoring systems (BMS, PMS).
- Served a recognised apprenticeship and be qualified to ND / City & Guilds/ NVQ level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical / Gas engineering discipline and ideally registered to the appropriate body as required for the role.
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing safety Certification in Site Safety Management (training can be provided.)
