Job summary

The Clinical Coding Department at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, is looking to appoint 1 full time Clinical Coding Admin Assistant for The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

The position is full time, hours per week and the working pattern is Monday - Friday. The start and finish times can be flexible within the needs of the department.

We require the post holder to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to be well organised and have a professional, positive attitude.

Due to the nature of the role, the job can be somewhat physical with a significant amount of manual handling involved.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities include - the collection and return of case-notes to and from the wards; booking in and despatching of patient case-notes; dealing with requests from other departments; plus, some data inputting of outpatient procedure details onto CareFlow.

The Clinical Coding Department is part of the wider Finance function, the Coding Department is based across two hospital sites - The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

We work towards strict monthly deadlines, which at times can be challenging.
