An exciting opportunity has emerged to join our music team to deliver a range of across our Level 3 qualifications. Bath College is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic lecturer with proven creative sector experience to join us in our journey to deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment to young people. 

The College is excited to be able to offer this role. We are looking for someone that has knowledge and skills relevant to music technology to support our students in their chosen career path, or progression onto higher education and training.

You will need to possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate proven experience of delivering good or outstanding learning experiences, striving to provide creative and innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment. You should demonstrate a good understanding of software such as Ableton and Logic Pro, whilst also having experience of using a music studio. Adopting an innovative approach to supporting teaching, learning and assessment, you should be capable of providing highly specialist teaching across both Music, and Music Technology disciplines. 

You will also be responsible for reviewing progress, providing pastoral care, promoting employer engagement and the reputation of the College to aid further growth of provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • To deliver high standards of teaching and learning in the area of Music. To monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body.  To be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe working environment. 
  • To support and challenge learners throughout their workshop sessions, rehearsal process and performance work. 
  • Plan and deliver specialist sessions in music for mixed ability groups, whilst embedding the promotion of equality and diversity within the music industry and the College.
  • To assist learners in producing music and performing at live events.
  • To ensure compliance with health and safety requirements/supervision of learners in vocational work placements
  • To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards one.  
  • A degree level qualification in Music or a related subject.  
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
