JOB TITLE: INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out isolations and de-isolations as required and perform preventative and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely and effectively on installation systems and equipment. Provide technical assistance and support during steady operations, process shutdowns, and start-ups. Limited Authorized Electrical Person, Grade C, when nominated and deemed competent by the authorising engineer in accordance with the client electrical Rules Isolate / de-isolate in accordance with Company Operating Procedures and Electrical Safety standards. Fire and Gas Systems as required and directed Safety systems and equipment Identified metering equipment as required and directed Telecommunications systems, as required and directed Amend software as required and in accordance with the company's Software Change Control procedures Safeguarding the reliability, availability and “fit for purpose” operational condition of safety and control equipment and systems sufficient to meet the operational availability targets of the installation Perform all necessary servicing, conditioning, fault diagnosis and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely, efficiently and effectively on Field instrumentation and local control panels Process control equipment Fire & Gas systems Safety equipment and systems Metering equipment Telecommunications systems and equipment under the supervision, when necessary, of a specialist contractor Assist specialist contractor personnel as necessary in the undertaking and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activity and tasks on the Instrumentation equipment Re-prioritise preventative maintenance work as necessary to accommodate unforeseen corrective maintenance tasks to enable safety and production to be sustained and / or restored. Cooperate with the Petrofac Supervisor to coordinate the activities of the Instrument Technicians as necessary Act as competent person, when required, in witnessing contractor tests on safety and control systems and equipment Ensure work programmes and schedules are completed safely, efficiently, effectively and within planned timescales Ensure all jobs are accompanied by the necessary and accurately completed documentation Provide technical knowledge and experience in diagnosing and resolving maintenance and / or operational problems and identifying opportunities for improvement Prepare work orders and work permits, requiring isolation as appropriate to progress maintenance activities Input accurate data into SAP for recording of working time (Time writing) and historical data Diagnose and rectify faults to maximise equipment availability and report all defects to management Carry out effective troubleshooting to maximize Plant efficiency, identify spares required, and initiate ordering of sameEssential Qualifications and Skills:
